AQUAD Eight is now available as free software free of charge under the terms
of the GNU GPL v3 license. The software has been divided into five
modules for the analysis of different data types: |

| aquad_8e |
This module contains functions for qualitative, quantitative and sequential
(objective-hermeneutic) content analysis. Keyword search and word counting have been revised.
|
| aquad_8e_audio |
Module for encoding audio recordings, e.g. interview recordings. When using this module time-consuming
transcriptions of the entire material can be avoided and can be limited to transferring critical passages,
e.g. for publications, in text form.

| aquad_8e_video |
Module for coding video recordings.
|
| aquad_8e_graph |
Module for coding graphical material, e.g. fotos, scanned drawings or texts in handwriting.
|
| aquad_eda |
Module for explorative-statistical analysis of results of qualitative analyses.
For example, with cluster analyses or multidimensional scaling, specific patterns in the results
can be searched for. This module does not need to be downloaded and installed, because by each of the
modules listed above aquad_eda.exe is installed automatically.

To use the modules for the analysis of sound and video recordings the 32-bit version
of the free media player VLC (download: www.videolan.org) must be
installed on the computer. |
|
For exploratory data analysis with the module aquad_eda.exe the free statistical software R
(download: www.cran.r-project.org) must be installed on the computer.
AQUAD asks for the directory where RGui.exe is stored when setting up a project. |
